Urban Hideaways

Who we are

A small management company that would rather do less, properly

Urban Hideaways manages a deliberately limited portfolio of homes in Penarth, Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan, and runs them as serviced accommodation for guests who want more than a hotel room.

Why we exist

Two problems, one answer

Guests were paying hotel prices for less than a hotel, or platform prices for a home the platform had never seen. Owners were either doing the whole job themselves at the expense of their evenings, or paying a management company that treated their property as a line on a spreadsheet.

We built Urban Hideaways to sit properly in the middle: manage a small number of homes to a standard we can actually maintain, let them directly so guests are not paying a commission, and give owners the kind of reporting they would produce themselves if they had the time.

What we believe

Four things we hold to

A home should feel finished

Not styled for a photograph, finished. Enough hangers. A kettle that does not leak. Knives that cut. The difference between a good stay and a mediocre one is forty small things being right.

Prices should be explainable

We publish our management fees. We apply long-stay discounts automatically rather than making people ask. If we cannot explain a number, we should not be charging it.

Small is a strategy

We keep the portfolio deliberately small so the person who answers the phone knows which home you mean, and the cleaner who prepares it is someone we know by name.

Say no more often

We turn down properties that will not perform, bookings that look wrong, and guests who want to hold a party. Every one of those refusals protects everybody else.

Stay with us, or hand us the keys

Both start with a conversation with a person.
